In FloridaDonald J. Smith is a prime example of how we need to change the laws in the US in every State regarding sex offenders.

said there was no restriction on him living that close to a school
because he was a registered sexual offender, not sexual predator."
He took her on June 22, 2013, Not even a month after being released for his prior crime against a child!
I fail to understand the 'difference' as he was using predator behavior and killed a little girl.
What is wrong with the State of Florida? Why can't they get it right?

won't go into the blame game here but to highlight the fact that
pedophiles prey on women who are desperate and or seem easy to

That effort went nowhere fast. It appears not many people wanted to advocate for pedophiles calling themselves "NAMBLA members" and "Boylovers". In 2007 a new attempt was made. Using the old "Call to Safeguard Children" except any references to pedophiles were removed and suddenly they found their niche. Suddenly they found lots of people, mostly women who were more than willing to support pedophiles as long as they didn't call themselves "NAMBLA members" and "Boylovers". The sad fact is though that many of them knew. That is the true horror of it. They knew who they were working with.

Not only had the ReformSexOffenderLaws petition been created by pedophiles from NAMBLA, the ReformSexOffenderLaws organization was being run by the same person who had founded NAMBLA and has been one of NAMBLA's key figureheads.
Today the ReformSexOffenderLaws best kept secret has been made public in all it's deceitful glory. Obviously some members of the RSOL were already well aware of this ugly fact, but despite their knowledge of Reeves' history, continued to mislead others with claims that they weren't associated with pedophile activists:
RSOL does not condone sexual activity between adults and children in any way, nor does it condone any sexual activities that break laws in any state. RSOL is not affiliated with, nor do we support or condone, NAMBLA, Boychat, Girlchat, or any group with similar positions on age of consent or related behaviors.
It isn't that the RSOL is affiliated with NAMBLA, the RSOL IS NAMBLA. It is a side-branch. It is a NAMBLA project. It is succeeding at what NAMBLA itself always failed to do: get people who weren't pedophiles to advocate on behalf of pedophiles.
The RSOL was founded by the very same person who founded NAMBLA. He never renounced NAMBLA and remained involved with both organizations until his death.
Derek Logue is a master of it. And apparently it is the ONLY thing he's mastered aside from blame gaming. Now he presumes to lecture "media hounds" on the proper use of the word pedophile and claims there can be no such thing as a "convicted pedophile". Why? Well a couple of reasons, one is that pedophiles CAN control themselves according to Derek Logue, the convicted child molester. Also according to this wacked-out-victim-blaming-piece-of-shit-cockroach one can't be a convicted pedophile because pedophilia is a medical diagnosis.
Pedophilia is also a common word. It has a common meaning which is "sexual perversion in which children are the preferred sexual object". It's in Websters. Look it up.
A part of semantics is also the study of how words evolve. My contention is that words mean what society decides they mean. "Gay" for example. This is really unimportant though because we all know that "A rose by any other name would smell as sweet" and "A pedo by any other name would smell as foul". The name doesn't change what it is.
I recognize that it is important to someone like Derek Logue however because he doesn't want that word associated with himself, despite the fact that he admitted he was attracted to a child. And despite the fact that he molested that child, and then spent years online blaming her and everyone else for his crime while associating with and defending known and admitted pedophiles - he doesn't want anyone to think that about him. He prefers to minimize:

When we consider the sex offender defender mantra has been that sex offenders are not routinely assessed to determine if they are or are not pedophiles. No registry is going to say "he was a pedophile" and therefore Derek has absolutely no knowledge whatsoever regarding how many offenders are pedophiles and even if he did - that knowledge would be wasted on a fool like Derek.
I generally just shake my head in disbelief at this pathetic and despicable excuse for a man but then he always manages to outdo himself with attempts to lecture people with convoluted statements like this

Benjamin Radford is a self-proclaimed "critical thinker", "research journalist", editor of The Skeptical Enquirer and author of a couple of very strange books and articles. I say strange because in Media Mythmakers he attempts to prove
"the ways in which deception is used in various media to influence decision making and public policy"
While I know for a fact that media is sometimes deceptive I know something else as well, and that is the fact that Benjamin Radford is committing the same types of errors he's accusing the mainstream media of.
Radford's specialty is disproving things that cannot be disproven by using his so-called "critical thinking skills". The problem is: he forgot to use them.
Radford recently appeared on Americans Reality Check to promote his book and spread his propaganda. He believes the American people are lazy and incapable of thinking things through on their own. I find it strange that he believes news journalists influence the way people think while claiming they aren't doing their jobs if they don't tell them what to think.

I suppose I'm incapable of "thinking critically" because I fail to see why anyone would expect a journalist to analyze conflicting medical information and then tell people what the correct answer is....when he can't possibly know what the correct answer is. All he can really do is state his opinion and influence people - whether or not he's right.
Radford claims that since he's a "research journalist" he thoroughly researched his topic aware that what he wrote would be controversial. So I'm a little confused here as to how he came up with his conclusion that recidivism for sex offenders is very low. For a critical thinker he made the same mistake as so many pedophile activists do - taking the DOJ recidivism report at face value and failing to question or analyze the results.

Radford also holds tight to his belief that Megan's Law is ineffective. He bases this on the fact that he didn't find anything that said it was, and on his misinformed belief that the very premise of the law was faulty. He believes that Megan's family KNEW about the violent rapist living on their street, and yet none of the neighbors knew. It appears he didn't do his research. Nor did he read the Minnesota study regarding the effectiveness of Megan's Law (community notification). Which said:
"community notification reduced the risk of time to rearrest by 84 percent, reconviction by 89 percent, and reincarceration by 93 percent"
In addition to proliferating their misinterpretation of David Finkelhor's Internet Predator report, just like Cheryl Griffiths - he took this

to mean that either internet predators don't exist or that it's somehow acceptable to exploit minors - as long as you seduce them, groom them and aren't physically violent I suppose.
Benji dazzled the sex offenders with amazing feats of distorted critical thinking and factoid production. For example he believes that the sex offender registry does nothing to protect children, he bases this primarily on two things. One being the fact that most offenders are known to their victims and Two being the myth that sex offenders don't re-offend.
However, he fails to realize that a sex offender registry was never about 'strangers'. It is the very fact that offenders ARE known to their victims which makes the registry such a valuable tool. Nobody could memorize every person on the registry to be able to know them if they saw them on the street, however, they can absolutely know NOT to bring these monsters into their home.
Radford believes that those on the registry were convicted of minor crimes - he knows this for a fact because --- people who commit bad crimes go to prison for long periods of time. Listen:
How does that compare to Michael Jacques who raped a 13 year old girl, then an 18 year old girl, negotiated a plea deal - had the first rape expunged from his record, served a miniscule sentence and convinced a judge to let him off supervision several years early because he was a "probation success story" - even though he was sexually assaulting a child at the time........and continued to for the next 5 years. Is Jacques an exception?
Or how about John Couey? Another registered sex offender who went on to kidnap a child from her bed then rape her repeatedly for days and then bury her alive. Is he an exception?
Joseph Duncan raped a 9 year old boy at gunpoint when he was only 15 years old and stated that he had committed 13 rapes by the time he was 16. He was sentenced as a juvenile and went on a few years later to do the same to other kids. This time he served 14 years of a 20 year sentence, got out and immediately molested a 6 year old boy. The judge let him out on bail. And we all know what happened then, don't we? He's responsible for the deaths of at least 7 people. Is Duncan an exception? He said he wasn't in his sex offender propaganda he wrote. The propaganda that mirrors exactly the rhetoric of the current sex offender activist groups. In fact, he wrote

What about Jim Freeman, the one-time leader of the largest pro-sex offender activist group on the internet. Was he an exception? Or Jon Schillaci, or Johnny Ray Lee, how about Corey Deen Saunders who raped a 6 year old in the library after a judge refused to civilly commit him? Are they exceptions?
Sex offender activists who talk out both sides of their mouth claim men like this should have never been released in the first place. They say this while demanding an end to civil confinement and long prison sentences. So how are these people exceptional to them? Because they know NOW what they were capable of? When do you think they reached that conclusion? Certainly not before they created more victims.
Sex offender coddlers frequently demand that we realize how easy it is to end up being labeled a sex offender. They say things like "It could happen to anybody". The truth is entirely different of course. You don't sexually assault someone, groom and molest a child, or join the "greatest group of pedos" by accident. It is not something that "happens to you". But we do know that people are sexually offended against every single day, those are the people that something "happened to", we can see obviously, how easy it is to be sexually assaulted or have your child abused by a freak.

Police Chiefs and Supreme Court Justices do not make the law, they never have and they never will as long as America's system of government continues. There are three branches of government, the executive branch, the legislative branch and the judicial branch. They function within a system of checks and balances. The primary function of the Supreme Court is not to analyze studies and reports and then make a determination of which they believe. Their function is to interpret the constitution despite what this critical thinking idiot believes. How embarrassing.
Mr Radford needs to go back to disproving Big Foot, or ghosts and ghoulies and other pretend monsters because he very successfully stuck a big foot in a very big mouth. There are over 40 millions survivors of very real monsters in America today. I was under the impression from reading that article that she was offered a place to stay and didn't have to go under the bridge. She's a sex offender who TWICE failed to follow registration laws and now refuses to go anywhere else to stay because it doesn't "suit her". Bill Andriette in The Guide, the Nambla Bulletin and IPCE - or 'International Pedophile and Child Emancipation' all report that Paul Shanley was not at the meeting that spawned Nambla. In fact, many pedophiles report that Shanley wasn't there. And yet, Bill Andriette says he was at the meeting on December 2, 1978. And Daniel Tsang reported the December 2, 1978 meeting is the one that spawned Nambla.

We don't know whether he was quoted accurately; we do know the article was written by Daniel Tsang, who was a proponent of intergenerational sex. The quotes were shocking, but he wasn't advocating the molestation of children.
Let's look at what he said. Along with a few other familiar names that were in attendance.

It seems to me that just as we face the reality of a coterie of closet pederast priests and even bishops we need to face the reality of a coterie of closet pederast therapists and even psychiatrists. For example, the Chairperson of the Department of Psychiatry at Boston University Hospital, Dr. Richard Pillard attended the nascent North American Man-Boy-Love Association (NAMBLA) conference on "Man-Boy-Love."
Pillard, famous for his twin study that claimed to prove a genetic basis for homosexuality, urged his fellow NAMBLAlike delegates to welcome pederasty since, said Pillard, "Men and boys who love each other are engaging in a social experiment."
I could list criminal records of various Nambla members, including the defrocked and convicted priest Paul Shanley - crimes committed by men who claim to just love children and who don't believe it should be a crime to exploit and abuse a child for their own selfish twisted desires. Instead I'll focus on Leland Stevenson who was released from prison in 1989 for a child pornography conviction, appeared in the ChickenHawk Nambla documentary in 1994 and was then convicted again in 1997 in Florida for possession of child pornography which included pictures of boys aged 8 to 10 years old.
It appears that they LIE when they say they "only" like teenagers. And it appears that they LIE when they say they aren't actually active. Who in their right mind would have believed that in the first place?
At its 16th membership conference, held in Chicago, August 7-9-1992, the North American Man/Boy Love Association unanimously adopted the following resolution:

Now Derek, believes that when the man started shooting teenagers at random, the government is at fault for being "vigilantes" making laws that he doesn't agree with. So speaks Shirley Lowery, the former CEO of Sosen. Recently shamed and ousted from her position during a gruesome hostile takeover, Shirley became depressed and announced her retirement. One of her ways of making a come back will be to address America's youth. Not those who were victimized by sexual abusers but rather those she claims were cheated of a normal childhood by parents who were afraid that their child would be abused. She says:

Personally I think it will be far more interesting to hear from children who were groomed, manipulated and molested. Those who were sexually assaulted and battered. Those whose mother stood up for them .... and those that didn't. Those who had their abuse dismissed and/or denied, versus those who had validation of their right to be free of sexual abuse by having proper sentences given to their abusers. But that's me.

Today we have the rare opportunity to observe one of her infamous blasts at society in progress. So far we have two versions she's presenting for group input. Let's look at some of the things she's saying.
She offers some snippets from a CNN transcript of John Walsh talking about his problems with sex addiction and how it hurt people in his life including his wife, children and himself. Shirley says:
"With this information we know that Walsh admitted to a raging sex addiction in 1999. He is well aware of the intensity of this condition and how it can ruin lives. If treatment worked for him it should work for many others with the same or a similar sex disorder. He owes the public an answer."
This is actually nothing new, all the RSO activists are trying to compare a sexual addiction to a sexual offense. This only serves to show their complete desperation and ongoing habit of pointing fingers, blaming others, and refusing to admit that they and they alone are fully responsible for their own actions. A sex addiction has nothing to do with sexually assaulting, raping, or molesting others unless the two are combined.
Next inline for finger pointing and blame-shifting we have Jessica Lunsford. We previously saw how Shirley made the allegation that Jessica had consensual sex with John Couey and then committed suicide by having Couey bury her alive. She's got a new spin on the situation, let's take a look.
"Every year we have young females who are abducted, raped and murdered. Jessica Lunsford was one such case. Her convicted killer, John Couey, did not suddenly turn murderer because of some long ago, non-violent sex crime. He turned killer due to the large amounts of crack cocaine that he ingested just hour's prior to Jessica's disappearance. By pretrial motion that information was withheld so even the juror's deciding his fate were not given this information. This tends to put a damper on the concept of a fair trial by a jury of your peers"
Let's stop there for a moment. Nobody has ever accused John Couey of murdering BECAUSE of his previous sex crime. Furthermore the same laws that allowed his drug use to be withheld in trial are the very same laws that prevent a jury from knowing a child molester on trial has a history of molesting 10 other children. It works both ways. And to make matters even worse for Shirley Lowery, in her haste to look like an idiot, completely fails to address the fact that John Couey kept Jessica for a week, raping her repeatedly before burying her alive. I hardly think he was on crack cocaine that entire time, and no one else thinks that either. That level of drug use would have killed him as no human body could withstand it.
"Jessica's horrific death would not have sparked any undue attention had it not been for old charges that required registration as a sex offender. That is the stage that was set for the American people. It was a power play with sex at the forefront and drugs pushed out of the way."
That's interesting. The way I recall events, Jessica's disappearance created a LOT of attention, BEFORE it was known a registered sex offender had kidnapped, repeatedly raped and killed by live burial little Jessica. THAT is how *I* recall it.
"Because of the way this case was presented everyone from home security people on up profited from this child's death. If John Couey had not fondled and tried to steal a kiss all of those years ago there would be no such thing as Jessica's Law."
Isn't it so terribly unfortunate that these things had to happen to Jessica before we could get our legislature to recognize what we've been telling them for years? But Shirley continues. She claims that the job the jurors did

This case was presented to a nation in such a manner as to induce public hysteria. It is time for us to remember that this is America where that sort of thing will not be tolerated.
For the health and welfare of this nation we had a right to know that the search was for a junkie rather than a sex fiend. Such careless, political power play has done irreparable harm to our country"
Search for a junkie? It was a search for an unknown person of unknown qualities who was acting for unknown reasons. It wasn't until after he was identified that anyone knew he was a registered sex offender. Furthermore, WHY does Shirley Lowery believe she has a right to know everything about a case yet you don't have a right to know that your next door neighbor molested a 5 year old child. When you have a 5 year old child.
WHY? Why is Shirley Lowery so hell-bent on blaming everyone except John Couey? Why is she so hell-bent on shifting attention AWAY from sex offenders? Could it be that her son, serving 60 years in prison for molesting Shirley's granddaughter, because of pleading guilty AND taking a plea bargain which REDUCED his sentence to SIXTY YEARS has caused her to flip her lid? Or was she always this wacked out?
"A child who has been victimized suffers from low-self esteem. If there is any shred of self-respect left it is quickly ripped away by society's very vocal perception. We are damaged, emotional cripples with diminished capabilities and nobody is willing to waste time on a lost cause. Society "saves" children by jerking them out of a bad situation and ensuring that the abuser is punished to the full extent of the law. There is no individual that notices or cares that only the faces have changed in a child's ongoing nightmare.
The hunger for revenge is what keeps these incidents as front-burner items. This is typical thinking for someone who has not experienced the situation. Most kids are not going to buy in to a 25-year future of public misery. We bide our time until we can walk away legally. The government never does anything right yet there are great expectations that they will fix the sex offender problem. Realistically, we are further away from a solution than we have ever been. In a recent discussion over on the absolute nothing blog, a couple of comments made by the poster WM, otherwise known as Dr Nigel Leigh Oldfield really made me think about the kind of people we are dealing with here.
I have taken thousands of images of minors, throughout my life, and have never masturbated over one of them. However, once again, I reserve the right to do so, if I ever wished.
He reserves the right to take pictures of peoples children without consent, and then use them for masturbation if he wishes to, and he sees nothing wrong in that? The second comment is a real corker, not only does he flout his contempt for the legal system he mocks those he would abuse if he chose to, and he still says he's not a sociopath.
You must know, by now, that I will break laws that I view as unjust and I am willing to accept the consequences. And, no, the families, of which you speak would not have a cat-in-hells chance of legal action, even if I had pumped pints onto to their little cherubs (feel free to contact some and let them have my email).

After all he claims he'd simply downloaded the 11,000 indecent images of children for research purposes, to explore his own sexuality. He continues to deny he is a paedophile or a pervert, despite his conviction for possession of the aforementioned 11,000 images, and his continued activity within the pro-paedo community via the site www.critest.com
The following are excerpts from the PCC ruling on the case Oldfield V The Sun (comments in italics mine) : (Ref : 061568)
'The commission noted the complainant had raised concerns that the article was innacurate when it stated that he was a 'pervert' and a 'paedo'...'

In this instance, given the nature of the complainants conviction for making indecent images of children, the commission was satisfied that readers would not have been misled by the terms used to describe him by the newspaper.'
(Oh dear it seems they agree that in light of the evidence it's quite acceptable to call him a 'pervert' and a 'paedo', well if the cap fits and all that, might be best if he gets used to wearing it! The PCC goes on to detail further codes and clauses examined when deciding the case and then concludes with the following:)
'Finally the commission did not consider that there were any issues to pursue under Clause 4 (Harassment) and Clause 12 (Discrimination) of the code.'
So there you have it, I daresay he feels this isn't the end of the matter etc etc. At the end of the day, if you get caught with 11,000 indecent images of children on your pc, what level of denial/delusion would prompt you to expect anyone to believe you were not a 'pervert' or a 'paedo'?

What did the actual report say? At note 66:
It’s statistics since mid-1990 had shown 304 persons involved in known or suspected child sex offences. Of these 124 were related to the child. Of the remaining 180, only 45 (ie. 14.8% of the total) had “been identified as paedophiles or suspected paedophiles, with all the classic indicators.”
You paedophiles are attempting to give the appearance that 304 offenders were clinically assessed and that only 14.8% were paedophiles. This is not the case. No one was assessed! This is the number of child molesters that officers were able to identify immediately upon investigation as having the ‘classic indicators’.
There was no sample. There was no assessment.
The committee is extremely clear that all figures are estimates that cannot be substantiated. See for instance at 2.13
For example, a preferential molester detected sexually molesting a child may claim to be a situational child molester to avoid further investigation of his or her activities or to avoid admitting his or her true preference. And at 2.20-2.22 the Committee explains that a major problem in gathering statistical data is under-reporting and the fact that it is impossible to determine the number of unreported offences every year. At 2.22 the Committee gives the following reasons why this occurs: -May be ‘street kids’ who submit to abuse in exchange for food and shelter. -Distrust of police -Some children may not view themselves as victims

Paedophiles are said to be adept at persuading or pressuring children into not complaining.

The statistics do not attempt to address the question of what proportion of the cases of child sexual abuse were committed by paedophiles or what proportion involved any organized paedophile activity. Often this information would not be known at the time the report was first made, and may not be known even following the degree of inquiry necessary to determine if the report is substantiated.
The committee also emphasizes the incomplete nature of reported information at 2.32
In putting these State and Territory figures together, allowance has to be made for the fact that they are merely estimates, very tentative ones in some cases, and that the methodology and definitions underlying them are not identical.

One recent study found that only 10% of rapists preferred violent sex over mutually consenting relations.
Based on the most recent Canadian studies, estimated recidivism rates for treated sex offenders fall in the vicinity of about 10%.
More importantly, their rate of recidivism was less than 10%.
So Lanning’s study was quoted like the Bible, now I’m being told his word ‘isn’t worth shit.’ We have now exposed the truth about these three references. Are you now going go find me three new ones? Tip: You can’t find something that doesn’t exist!
Anyone wondering why these paedophiles are so insistent on gathering, misquoting and lying about these studies and reports? For that, we’ll return to Lanning (2001) p. 59:
Collecting may also fulfill needs for validation. Many preferential sex offenders collect academic and scientific books and articles on the nature of their paraphilic preferences in an effort to understand and justify their own behavior. For the same reason pedophiles often collect and distribute articles and manuals written by pedophiles in which they attempt to justify and rationalize their behavior.
