Remember Remsen Benedict? He was sentenced yesterday to six and a half years for possession of child pornography.
Just like Robert Hochulski's family, Remsen's wrote letters bragging on his community service, his dedication to the Boy Scouts and Big Brother as though that should somehow absolve him and earn him a lighter sentence. I find it fascinating actually and shows the families are still in denial.
The fact that Remsen was a Scout leader and drove a school bus has to do with the fact that he's a pedophile who sought ways to be around little boys. It's even more reason to make sure he's never around little children again.
And he won't be. Legally anyway.
After Wikisposure notified the school district and Boy Scouts of America regarding Remsen's internet pedophile activity, such as membership at sites like Boylandonline, Bliss, BoysMagicWorld, Boys Scout Camp, Boylover.net and BoyMoment - his computer was seized and forensic analysis revealed
hundreds of videos and thousands of child abuse images - the equivalent of 22,275 images under the sentencing guidelines. The images and videos showed prepubescent and pubescent children being sexually assaulted and molested by adults, as well as children engaging in sexual acts with other children under the direction of adults.
When Remsen is released he'll have to register as a sex offender. His internet activity will be restricted and he'll be required to stay away from anyone under the age of 18. It is a part of his sentence and is absolutely imperative so that no parent who is aware of just exactly what Remsen is will ever trust their child around him.
Another thing I found especially interesting regarding the case of Remsen Benedict is how much something Mary Duval has talked about reminded me of him.
You see, Mary has a friend who won't allow her daughter to ride the Church bus unless there is someone else on the bus. Mary claimed her friend was hysterical and had "a hate-on for men"
Mary claimed the bus driver was a fine upstanding member of the community, an elderly gentleman without a criminal record, a father, a grandfather and that her friend was hysterical. Mary repeated this story at least 4 times that I know of. Lenore Skenazy agreed with Mary.
But ya know? I didn't think it was hysterical at all. No, I thought about Remsen. He was a "fine upstanding member of the community" as well. He had no criminal record. He was a father, a grandfather - he drove a school bus.
I wondered what Mary might know about the church bus driver that other people don't? Since she's so sure of how safe he is that she mocks her "friend" to multiple guests on her show she must have some sort of inside and all-knowing information regarding him.
But there's one guest Mary had that she didn't tell the story to and that's Margie Slagle. You see Margie as an attorney works tirelessly to get sex offenders off the registry and other sex offender related activity. Margie is on their "side". But Margie said
Now I know that 93% of all sex offenses occur because we as parents have trusted the offender with our child so I'm far more worried about who I trust my children with than I'm worried about a list.
When my son took guitar lessons at first I'd just drop him off because I thought, well this is a nice guy he gives guitar lessons at church it must be safe and then I realized what the heck are you doing take a book and sit for half an hour you moron. Why would you trust a stranger with your child?
So I have become smarter as a parent and that's the only way to prevent sex offenses against your children is to just be aware of who you trust your children with. I don't want my kids riding home alone in a car with one of their coaches, are you kidding me? You don't set them up that way.
But the registry doesn't do that for you as a parent that's the problem. Parents are not educated enough to protect their kids and if they're relying on a registry they're leaving their kids vulnerable.
I wonder if Mary called Margie hysterical? I wonder if Mary asked Margie what she thought about Lenore Skenazy letting her 9 year old child ride the subway alone in New York City? I wonder if she asked Margie if she thought it was appropriate for convicted sex offenders to mock parents for protecting their children then blaming them if they don't protect them enough? I wonder what a discussion like that would look like. I wonder if it's possible for Mary to take a stand and stick with it and stop changing her story depending upon the guest? So far all we've seen is flip-flopping. Time will tell. The fact is however, that if you support UNDER protecting children you cannot be taken seriously as someone whose goal is to "educate and prevent" sexual abuse. And you certainly can't be taken seriously when one day you say children shouldn't walk home from school and the next day you mock parents who won't let their child walk home from school. You can't have it both ways. Even blame-gaming has it's limits.
We first talked about "Hutch" Robert Hochulski here. Now his defense attorney is trying to claim that one reason he should be given a lighter sentence is because he has support from his wife. My goodness I thought, I wonder if he knows what sort of "support" she offers?
Support like coming here to AZU and denying his crimes while calling us every name in the book for harming an "innocent man's reputation" perhaps?
Well of course we weren't trying to "harm an innocent man" and of course he wasn't innocent. He was sentenced yesterday to almost 6 years. He had over 2000 images on his computer but confessed to less than 600 of them. And of course the images included prepubescent children and sadistic acts. That's a "childlover" for you.
But what I found especially interesting was Bob's letter to the judge. Not only was Bob a moderator on a pedophile board, not only did he continue to log into his account AFTER his arrest but he put himself in a position to - as he called it - "mentor" boys for years. That's what filthy pedophiles do. Now he wants to use the fact that he did "good works for boys"? And HEY! not only Bob, but all his family and friends used the same reasons to the court. "Bob is a GOOD man" and "Bob has done so much work for children" and "I was shocked when I heard and I know that he's sorry and would never do it again"

But if we've learned anything from all the pedophiles who love to blabber off their mouths it is this: pedophiles cannot and will not change. Bob will spend his 5 years and 8 months in prison and return to the loving enabling arms of his wife. When he does: he'll still be a pedophile. Mark your calenders, I have a feeling we'll be seeing Bob again one day.
Jarred Harrell was arrested today for the murder of Somer Thompson.....among other things.
You may recall little Somer was abducted while walking home from school with friends last October. Somer was 7 years old. Her body was found in a landfill a few days later.
On a related note, I argued with Cheryl Griffiths on a news article about it when Cheryl started attacking Somer's mother for appearing on TV to talk about the case. Cheryl - with her typical venomous hatred for victims of sex crimes said it was "over" and Somer was dead and her mother was just trying to get attention and exploit her own dead child. And I wonder, why would Cheryl care if Somer's mother wanted to keep attention on the case.... the perpetrator had not even been caught. Why?
Jarred Harrell was also arrested for possession of child pornography. If he had not been charged with Somer's murder these self-absorbed apologists for baby-rapers would be saying "It was ONLY pictures, it's not like he abducted and killed a child".
We must remember that almost all child molesters are also found to be in possession of child pornography. And in a recent study 85% of those convicted for possession of child pornography also had committed hands-on offenses against children that had gone undetected.
Jerome Miller of Reform Sex Offender Laws Campaign RSOL claims those offenders in that study only said they molested children because they would get special privileges. Interesting that he knows so much about what ALL the men in that study did or didn't do. So I ask you....would you confess to being a filthy child molester if you really weren't? Child molesters are the bottom of the barrel, a scourge, a blight - the most sickening the thing a person can be and something nobody would want to be identified as.
In this particular study 26% of the offenders were known to have molested children at the time of their conviction but during the study they revealed that 85% of them had. Most of them with multiple victims. In fact, as a group they had 75 child victims amongst them - known at the time of their original sentencing for possession of child pornography. After their confessions that number jumped to 1,777. This study was conducted on 155 men by the way. And yet those people who are interested in removing all penalties for possession of child pornography dismiss this study and instead promote the recent one that came out of Switzerland. You know..... the one who used a BoyChat member as his resource for information?
Is Jarred Harrell unusual in some way? Yes, in that he actually killed his victim. No, in that he didn't JUST get caught with child pornography - he progressed before being captured. People who look at images of children being sexually assaulted are not "the real victims of society" the way the Nambla people at RSOL would have you believe. They are people with a sexual interest in children and as Mary Duval always says "That should be a red flag"
We wrote recently about Jim Freeman - the proud pedophile sex offender activist - who was ordered to pay restitution to "Amy" in the sum of $3,263,758. Unfortunately she'll only receive about forty thousand from his retirement fund. He won't be needing it where he'll be spending the rest of his life after all.
Amy is fighting back. She's filed for restitution against at least 20 other people including Remsen McGinnis Benedict, AKA Wolfman and Raymond Highsmith a former Shriners leader. The Misty series is one of the most popular and readily available kiddie porn videos on the Internet. It's considered a collector's item among pedophiles. Downloading it is a felony. Officials have identified 750 individuals who possess the Misty series, but they believe tens of thousands of copies are out there.
Today, she suffers from severe post-traumatic stress disorder. Victims of child sexual abuse are more resistant to treatment than victims of other types of PTSD.
The next time you see someone refer to child pornography as a "thought crime" stop for a moment and remember Amy and all the children whose experiences echo hers. I am horrified by the thought that other children will probably be abused because of my pictures. Will someone show my pictures to other kids, like my uncle did to me, then tell them what to do? Will they see me and think it's okay for them to do the same thing? Will some sick person see my picture and then get the idea to do the same thing to another little girl? These thoughts make me sad and scared.
I am always scared that people can look at me and tell that I am a victim of sex abuse because my abuse is a public fact. I am worried that when my friends are on the internet they are going to come across my pictures and it fills me with shame and embarrassment.
Every day of my life I live in constant fear that someone will see my pictures and recognize me and that I will be humiliated all over again. It hurts me to know someone is looking at them -- at me -- when I was just a little girl being abused for the camera. I did not choose to be there, but now I am there forever in pictures that people are using to do sick things.
I am being exploited and used every day and every night somewhere in the world by someone. How can I ever get over this when the crime that is happening to me will never end? How can I get over this when the shameful abuse I suffered is out there forever and being enjoyed by sick people?
Please think about me and think about my life when you sentence this person to prison. Why should this person, who is continuing my abuse, be free when I am not free?
The Associated Press reports that a Florida man is blaming his cat for child pornography found on his computer.
48-year-old Keith Griffin claims that he was innocently downloading music when he left the room and his evil feline downloaded over 1,000 images of child pornography to his computer.
Now that's some bad luck right there.
Well frankly I don't think - um anyone - is going to believe you, Keith. So, here's my tip for you: make Mary Duval your spokesperson. Don't worry Keith, Mary can handle it - she's got it all worked out. By the time she tells everyone what a 'snot-nosed, teary-eyed victim' and 'evil vigilante troll' that damn cat is, you should have nothing to fear.

You see, aside from being a pervert, Morrow (like other pedophiles we know), volunteered as a 'mentor' in an organization set up to help boys "develop a positive self image, a sense of belonging and an acceptance of responsibility for their actions." Hardly the message a scumbag like Morrow would send to child as a mentor, or as a teacher:

Thanks to the Wikisposure project, that wasn't the only thing Morrow had to face up to. After Wikisposure volunteers collaborated with Law Enforcement, Morrow was arrested and convicted of possesing 13,000 child pornography photos. He's been sentenced to 84 months (seven years) in prison, but if you ask me, he got off far too lightly.

So "consensual" and "loving," but we already knew these people were like that. They use children to satisfy themselves. Morrow was never charged nor convicted for this crime, his victim is still out there.

Senior U.S. District Judge Lacey A. Collier issued a judgment ordering Freeman to pay restitution in the amount of $3,263,758
This restitution judgment is one of the first of its kind in the United States. At the hearing, Assistant U.S. Attorney David L. Goldberg presented the testimony of a forensic pediatrician and a psychologist in order to inform the court of the long-lasting trauma that child pornography has upon the victims whose images are taken. Judge Collier noted, "Each and every individual who possesses and downloads these images victimizes these children." Though Freeman had previously been sentenced to life in prison, he has assets from which the restitution judgment can be obtained.
This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse, launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice. Led by U.S. Attorneys' Offices and the Criminal Division's Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS), Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state and local resources to better locate, apprehend and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims. Gary Anderson or "Gareth" sure does get around. He changed his name legally from Simeon Hope and uses the nicks CapNemo, KidsPower, and luv_lauren99 (among others)
Gary is a pedophile. He likes little girls and he likes little boys too. He says his "age of attraction" is 8 or 9, and 7-12 for boys.
Of course Gary is also a convicted sex offender. A repeat sex offender.
Gary was a teacher working with children when he was convicted in 2000 for distributing child pornography and possession of greater than 51,000 images. After serving only 18 months in prison he joined pedophile groups and returned triumphantly to his previous activities. But, less than two years after his release he was convicted AGAIN for the same thing.
"Yesterday, he was jailed for 18 months and banned from ever working with children or keeping a computer with Internet access. He was also ordered to serve an extended licence, once released, of four-and-a-half years, to be controlled by the probation service and receive treatment."
Did he keep a computer? Or was he using someone elses? Just as soon he got out there he was again posting all over pedophile message boards. BoyChat, GirlChat, BoyMoment and of course he joined Sosen too.
He talked about his treatment program in very mocking terms. Not only did he not need therapy dammit! But he wasn't going to cooperate with it either.
"My strategy is to tell these lovely, caring people what they like to hear. My real thoughts I keep to myself and for here. I want to be regarded as low risk, so that I can lead a more normal life."
"My feeling about this kind of therapy is that it just puts huge powers into the hands of prejudiced, ignorant fools. Instead of someone being given a limited punishment and then allowed to restart their life, we must wait until they say we are ready. That can be years or never."
Sex Offender Treatment is really gonna help this guy isn't it? While he was in prison he wrote letters to John Hodgson aka taf-kat who roams around the net stealing photos of peoples children from their photo albums for masturbation purposes and just another GirlChat pervert multi-convicted child porn freak who kept the twittering pedophiles apprised of their missing in action hero by posting Gary's letters on GirlChat. Gary wrote:
"I am on licence until December 2008 (yes, '08). The judge laid into me at my sentencing, as these morons do, and said that he expected that I will never again be allowed access to the Net. Well..."
Gary claimed the women in his life all knew what he was and what he did:
"I've had two partners who knew all about my attraction to children (mainly 7-12yo). The first was my wife, who gradually became aware over years as I told her more. She was generally accepting, even when she knew I was downloading CP, but left me instantly when I was arrested for that.
Teh second is my current partner. She doesn't like it, but knew about it from the start, as she visited me in prison. She just thinks men are all pervs anyway."
In addition to communicating with pedophile message boards while still in prison Gary has been on those pedo boards and sex offender boards any time he wasn't in prison. In fact, he's still an active member and had his own comments edited by GirlChat when requesting links to "child modeling photos" just a few months ago. But Gary didn't just have child pornography, distribute child pornography and rant and rave about legalizing child pornography (what the sex offender advocacy groups refer to as a "victimless crime") and legalized adult/child sex (no age of consent laws). NO. He wrote stories too. Graphic stories. The kind of stories Ricky's Mom says helps prevent child sexual abuse.

But he's much more than that. He's also a convicted sex offender, having been found guilty in 1999 for "distributing indecent photographs of children and also possessing indecent photographs with intent to distribute them"
The photos in question were young boys aged 5 to 15.
The most interesting aspect to me is the defense he used. On BoyChat he told them he studied Psychology in college due to his interest in childhood development. He told authorities:
Christopher Wrigley said he communicated with the men because he wanted to compare their reaction to indecent pictures.
The only reason he exchanged images with Kinloch and another American named Sonny Delite, he said, was to determine what sort of pornography interested pedophiles.
And he told the jury:
that his only interest in the photos was for his university research project on child abuse.
"Everything I've ever written, everything I've ever done is for one goal, one objective - to reduce incidences of child sexual abuse. "
Amazingly enough half of the first jury believed him and deadlocked! I'm thinking they didn't know about his activities on BoyChat and other places. Like what he said about meeting a new "young friend"
But all the while I'm getting this nagging feeling, "this kid is 13 and will be 14 in six months, he's too old for you to start a friendship."

Today, pedophiles go online to seek tips for getting near children — at camps, through foster care, at community gatherings and at countless other events.
In this online community, pedophiles view themselves as the vanguard of a nascent movement seeking legalization of child pornography and the loosening of age-of-consent laws. Repeatedly in these conversations, pedophiles said the discussions had helped them accept their attractions and had even allowed them to have sex with a child without guilt.
“It is rationalization that allows them to avoid admitting that their desires are harmful and illegal,” said Bill Walsh, a former commander of the Crimes Against Children Unit for the Dallas Police Department, who founded the most prominent annual national conference on the issue. “That can allow them to take that final step and cross over from fantasy into real-world offenses.”
Some pedophiles revealed that they gained access to children through their own families. Some discussed how they married to be close to the children from their wives’ previous marriages. Pedophiles who said they were fathers described moments involving their own children
Experts described the pedophiles’ online worldview as reflective of “neutralization,” a psychological rationalization used by groups that deviate from societal norms.

"Steve Lampert, CEO of eNannySource.com, said company records list no one with the suspect’s given name, but they do contain two aliases Vermont police say Shepherd used.
An account under one alias, Parker Wilder, was closed in August 2008 after a family complained about him; a listing for a Donald Shepherd, the name law enforcement says the boy used in referring to his nanny, had been shut down in December 2006, also following a complaint"
So this is to be expected:
Shepherd admitted the inappropriate activity included touching, oral sex and the taking of explicit photographs. According to police, Shepherd said he initially felt like a father figure for the boy but later the "dynamic changed and turned into, you know, I see him as a lover."
Shepherd had nothing to say as he left the Grand Isle Courthouse charged with a list of sex crimes, including aggravated sexual assault on a child. Investigators say that Shepherd will likely face child porn charges. That part of the investigation is just beginning but it's expected to be huge, with thousands of images found on Shepherd's electronic equipment, including photos of the victim in this case.
Shepherd told law enforcement he had had worked with children in California, Florida, Michigan, and at summer camps for boys in Texas and New York. He had also been approved to be a substitute teacher in Grand Isle County. Police are concerned that there could be other victims out there.

Together the two were charged with assaulting at least 11 children, ages 3 months to 14 years old and possessing the equivalent of 42 80-gigabyte computers filled with child pornography.....including their own homemade videos of themselves having sex with children - over the course of years and years and years.
I wonder what the terms of Harold's deal were? They haven't been released yet. He has until January 28 to decide. Now personally I believe the only choice he should be allowed is between methods of execution. "redonnashow.txt" in which an eight-year-old girl, nine-year-old boy, and four-year-old girl are tortured and raped as "slaves"; eight-year-old "slavew girl is tortured, raped, and forced to eat feces;
"jandj .txtM in which a two-year-old girl is raped and tortured; a four-year-old girl is raped as mother is tortured - both mother and daughter are murdered;
"M&M.docU in which a five-year-old "slaven girl is tortured and raped; a six-year-old "slave" girl is raped.
The defendant, Karen Fletcher, agrees that each of the six stories satisfies the following test for obscenity enunciated in Miller v. United States, 413 U.S. 15, 24 (1973)

Create and lobby for policies reducing or eliminating one-adult/one-child situations in all youth-serving organizations, such as faith groups, sports teams, and school clubs. These policies should ensure that all activities can be interrupted and observed.
Make sure outings are observable, if not by you, then by others.
Find a way to tell the adults who care for children that you and the child are educated about child sexual abuse. Be that direct.

Police said a 5-year-old victim who was allegedly sexually abused by two New Britain men told them he would go to the men’s apartment and watch movies on the computer of children having sex with adults.
The two men -- Jeffrey Brisson and Harold Spurling -- were arrested earlier in the year after police spent 10 months reviewing computer evidence confiscated from their apartment. The men have been charged with sexually assaulting children ranging in age from 3 months old to teenagers.
The 5-year-old alleged victim said Brisson and Spurling would also make him look at pictures of naked children between 5 and 8 years old. He also told police the two men would perform sexual acts with one another in front of him.
Another piece of evidence the court has is a letter listing quotes from Brisson and Spurling, including one that says, “I love 5-year-old boys and am very attracted to them.”
According to the warrant, investigators began to look into the pair when an official at the Pulaski Middle School in New Britain received a warning about pedophiles in the community.
Police said they learned that Brisson and Spurling were allegedly "using the Internet to promote their pedophile lifestyle" during the seven years they lived together in a Washington Street apartment.
Investigators said a search of the men's apartment turned up the equivalent of 42 80-gigabyte computers filled with child pornography -- enough they said to fill nearly 103,000 paperback books with illegal material.
Brisson and Spurling have been in custody since January. Together, their bonds total more than $5 million

Why have I not provided the factual data he requested? Why, it's quite simple. I never said that. Truthseeker, however, DID claim that the majority of registered sex offenders are on the registry for such things as "urinating in public" (that's his favorite argument btw), mooning people, having consensual sex, or in his case "merely looking at a few dirty pictures". That he seems to have absolutely no realization of the seriousness of his crime is great cause for concern regarding the likelihood of him re-offending. After all.....it was just some sexual pleasure at the expense of sexually abused children, wasn't it? Yes that's true. I did say that the DOJ did NOT report that 95% of all sex crimes are committed by someone not on the registry. I said it because it's true. We've been harping on this for a year now and they cannot get it through their heads.
A recidivism rate does not equal a crime rate. Furthermore that 3.5% recidivism statistic was spread out over a period of three years, it was not an annual figure. It was not a measurement of the percentage of crimes committed. It was a measurement of re-offending. The DOJ report DOES NOT SAY how many people convicted of a new sex crime in any given year are or are not already on the sex offender registry. You cannot take one statistic and force it into meaning something it does not mean.
For example, let's say you have say 1000 men in 2007 that were RSO's that you followed. Let's say 3% of them re-offended. That doesn't mean that 97% of all sex crimes were committed by someone not already convicted of a sex crime. The only conclusion you can factually draw from that scenario is that 3% re-offended and 97% didn't. You can bet that there were other RSO's in that same time period who re-offended after a varied period of time. But the study wasn't measuring them. The recidivism rate released by the Department of Justice does not mean what they say it means. I don't know how many other ways to say it where they can understand. I know they want to believe it, I know they DO believe it, but it's because the only people they are listening to are people who spend their time trying to find some reason, some excuse, some something somebody anybody to blame except for themselves.
When Tom Madison goes on National TV and says the things he says, he makes a fool of himself in more ways than just losing control and acting like a wild and crazy impulsive and angry sex offender. He makes himself look stupid, because he is uninformed. He can't even read and comprehend a DOJ report.
However, occasionally you find a mind that's a notch up from these other guys. Let's pay attention to him for a moment. Vanguard a staff member of Sosen doesn't get it either but I admit he's closer than the others. He tried to help his people out, and I dare say he got nowhere. That's six times the number of non-sex offenders committing a sex crime as sex offenders, not counting first time offenders"
Well thanks Vanguard and Derek, you see Derek using YOUR numbers you provided from the 1994 DOJ report on Recidivism, you are correct that the non-Rso felons committed SIX times the number of offenses, but what does that mean really? It might be in your favor if there were the same number of criminals being measured. But there weren't. The non-Rso's made up 27 times the number of Rso's. Meaning one out of 16 sex offenders committed a new sex crime and one out of 68 non sex offender criminals did. And if we add Vanguard's calculation into the mix, there were only 1 out of over 3000 that were not any type of criminal at all.
If you want to make a difference pull your head out of the sand, acknowledge that there are seriously damaging crimes committed against people, and that your figures you're trying to pass off as FACT are not fact at all but a manipulation of statistics to try and make them say something they do not say. The Washington study does indeed say that 19% of all new sex crime convictions resulting in prison time the offender is already on the registry. The New York State study that the Reverend Hess child porn sex offender likes to reference also states a low recidivism rate over a limited amount of time. It also states quite clearly that 25% of the men in that study had a previous sex crime conviction prior to the most current offense that landed them in jail. Get your facts straight. You do not have facts. You do not have truth. Tom Madison is uninformed, and you're all acting like imbeciles.
Or, you could always stick with the same old story you've been using and continue to look like pissed off unrepentant victim bashing sex offenders who will LIE and LIE and LIE and are never to be trusted.
