Laura L. Findlay pleaded guilty to 22 counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a person younger than 16, including at least two charges of sexual penetration.
Six eighth-grade boys between the ages of 13 and 14 testified that she had oral sex with them and gave them lap dances. All six boys were either band members or basketball players at the school Findlay taught at. Amazingly, some of the molestation occurred in the band room AT THE SCHOOL. And not only that, the school district says she was "laid off due to budget cuts", not fired. In other words, she's admitted to sex with these boys, in some cases as the school, yet she's still has tenure in the district. *sigh*
For these 22 counts, she faces a possible max sentence of 7 years. SEVEN YEARS. Unless the judge decides to override that max, she will stand by her guilty plea and accept the penalty assessed to her.
Seven years.... for repeatedly molesting six 13 and 14 year old boys. This is just unacceptable.
