It was a grooming offense

Rally Against Sexual Abusers
This is not an offender therapy group. My husband falls into the "grooming" type of offense. Been there done that, bought the T shirt. It is not my job to worry in this group if an offender is lying to himself..That is between him and his therapist we are here to fight the insane hysteria and dracion SO laws. There are so many DIFFERENT types of sex offenses and sex offenders. I am not a clinician and neither are you.
So speaks Linda Pehrson, one of the speakers at the Columbus Ohio Rally. Linda's husband molested his step-daughter, Linda's daughter and when he was released from prison she brought him back into the home. She calls it "family reunification". This was not a spur of the moment molestation. A "situational offense" as the pedoheads call it. No, Charles groomed this child. Linda's daughter.

Now let's look at another speaker at the rally. Margie Slagle an Ohio attorney and representative of the Ohio Justice & Policy Center is taking issue with sex offender registry laws. Her first case in law school was to fight against residency restrictions placed upon her client Edward Dion Burge.
"He was not a child molester," Slagle said. "He had consensual sex with a woman who was not old enough to consent — and that was a crime."

"He's a great father," Slagle said. "He loves children. It's ridiculous to lump him in with as a child molester and as a threat to the community."
But the prosecutor tells us a different story. Gary Nasal says:
"Certainly he is a sexually oriented offender, and certainly, I would classify him as a child molester," Nasal said. "He did, in fact, groom this child and pursue her."
Margie should be very comfortable then in the company of Linda and Betty. Margie Slagle says:
"Hopefully we can help him and make this end," she said, "so he can go on and live his life."

Slagle will continue to fight against these laws and for a man she says she'd trust with her own children.
Now let's go back to Betty Price for a moment
FROM SOMEONE WHO KNOWS - Linda's husband may not be a predator. I don't see where said that he was. Their are different categories - Sexual Predator, Sex Offender, child molestor, Pedophile, Rapists, etc. You have know idea whether Linda protects her child or not. You have no idea what family boundaries they have set. I also was sexually abused as a child. Once at the age of 6 by my Aunt's Father in Law. Then again at age 11 by a cousin. I am not a victim. I am a survivor. Have you gone into counseling? That may help. You most likely have PTSD. By the way, I am married to a sex offender. The first husband was an abusive alcoholic. I was physicall, mentally, emotionally and SEXUALLY abused by him. This one is hard for me to forgive. I left him in 1999. My children have told me things they remember. They were not being coached. Unfortunately, my oldest daughter is falling in Daddys steps and drinking way too much. She is be emotionally abused by her husband and I blame myself for her
And now for a preview of Betty's speech she plans to give at the Columbus Ohio Rally.
Greetings Everyone,

I am here to speak about my being a Survivor of Child Sexual Abuse at the age of 6 and 10. Both people were known to my family. The one when I was 6 was an elderly known by my family and the one at 10 was a cousin.

When I was 6 this man put me on his lap and stuck his hand down my pants while no one was in the room. I knew enough to know that it didn't feel right so I jumped off his lap and stayed right with my Mommy the rest of the day. I didn't tell because 44 years ago we were not told these things. My cousin, when I was 10, tried to rape me, but I fought and got away. Let's just say my foot hit the right spot. I still did not tell. Not only because I still didn't know it was against the law, but I didn't want to cause trouble within my family. I guess at ten I was old enough to know that it would cause family trouble.

I never felt like a victim, mainly because I had never heard the word I guess. As a matter of fact, I didn't even think about it until my little girls were growing up so I did know to watch them closely. The older one was abused while myself, my EX Mother-In-Law, and her Sister, who was the wife of the man were all in the kitchen and he got my oldest alone in the living room. This was on Thanksgiving Day. She did tell me about it, but I just made sure we stayed away from them. At that time, it wasn't all over the news and I still didn't know it was illegal. She and I are glad that we didn't know that because we would have not wanted him to go through what sex offenders and their families go through today. My daughter is also a Survivor. I told her she was strong enough to not let it hurt her and that God expected her to forgive Uncle ??.

I feel that I am a Survivor mainly because I was brought up in church my entire childhood. I was taught that God forgives his Children and that he expects his children to forgive others. I have forgiven my Abusers many years ago and my daughter has done the same thing. This is not something that is constantly on my mind. I rarely ever think about it, except when it comes to Speaking out in Public about the Treatment of Sex Offenders and their families that is totally undeserved. My Parents also taught me that once a person has Paid his debt to society, that all was forgiven and he had the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Today, that is for any criminal except sex offenders who have the lowest recidivism rate of all other crimes! We do need laws for Habitual Offenders, Sexual Predators, Violent Sexual Predators and Pedophiles as they are the most dangerous. If we took all but those off of the Registry, it would be so very much more manageable.

If you don't mind I would like to know if we have any Survivors or any Victims in the audience. If you don't mind and you are a victim, please raise your hand. If you are a Survivor and do not mind please raise your hand. (at this point I will have someone passing out our pamphlet to those who raise their hands).

I now have a poem to read that is very fitting for Survivors and Victims:

Forgive the Hurts
Forgiveness will never fail to free you.
— Jerrold Mundis
How do we forgive when
we are angry and hurt?

As a first step, we can be willing to truly feel our anger and hurt. Honouring our feelings by being fully present with them helps to release the feelings themselves.

And it helps to remember that people only hurt others when they themselves are in pain. When we can recognize the other person ïs suffering, our heart can open in compassion. We can also remember that at some time or another, we too have hurt someone through our own unskilful action.

Only love can heal the rifts caused by a hurtful deed. Forgiveness holds immense power because it mends separation. It moves us towards the unity and love that lie at the core of our being. It is a fundamental part of the healing process.
"Forgiveness does not change the past, but it does enlarge the future."
— Paul Boese
"God has a big eraser."
— Billy Zeoli

Very fine specimen to be representing sex offenders don't ya think? Who else could possibly be this stupid?

"Next to them, piled high, were the many CD's filled to bursting with my precious pictures, tens of thousands of them, all kinds, from innocent, fully clothed girls, through posed nudity, to the hardest cp you can imagine. Like the books, I was so familiar with every single image, they had been sorted and re-sorted, into age order, into filename order, all the series sorted, my favourite folder, my pigtails folder, my blow-job folder...if there was a different way to sort them, I had done it."
That's Taf-kat. He told this story of his child pornography conviction and his obsession, one which continues to this day.

Meet John Hodgson

You may know him as

Princesplaff

According to his wiki entry:

"He has been arrested and convicted for possession of child pornography twice, once in 2000, and another time in 2006.

He also collects pictures of little girls from people's family galleries online, and harrasses them with lewd comments about their children and relatives."

OK. Click on "community" the "family & friends", best sections are babies, birthdays, and holidays. Click to sort by date to get the newest listed first, rather than the most popular, as the popular ones tend to be women in bikinis, yuk.
A link below will give you a good one.
I am now a Webshots member (£5 a year) and I have a list of "favourite members" that keeps emptying my tissue box.

You are not alone. I am attracted to 3-9 lg's. You have my exact aoa! Although I am different as I have been married and had a family. I agree with you that as soon as any breasts appear (or hair down there) I completely lose interest. Lowering the age limit to 12 would help, assuming me, a 47 year old overweight git, could pull a 12 year old, but even then as I lay with her I would be fantasizing about her being younger...that is why, since my marriage fell apart in 1999 when I was outed as a gl, I have become celibate, not out of choice, but if I was to pursue a girl I was attracted to, I would be locked up.

Then wander on over and take a look at Taf-kat and his twisted 'passion' on his Wikisposure site. Don't miss his poetry for a glimpse into the mind of a "childlover"

Who is Sarah Tofte?

Sunday, November 11, 2007

Meet
Terri Lynn Winchell

Have you heard of her?
Or has her name been lost and overshadowed
by the name of the man who murdered her.

On January 8, 1981, Michael Morales strangled her with his belt until it broke. He then hit her in the head with a hammer 23 times, dragged her across a road face down and raped her, finishing off his work by stabbing her in the chest 4 times.

Terri was 17 years old.

For this Morales was sentenced to die. But Sarah Tofte, a "researcher" for Human Rights Watch argued that lethal injection was "cruel and unusual" punishment. Sarah as a student and prison activist once argued for reform. "My heart recoils within me; my compassion grows warm and tender."

I imagine with that mindset she would be very interested in reforming sex offender laws also. She identifies with the offender. She authored No Easy Answers: Sex Offender Laws in the US
This 146-page report is the first comprehensive study of US sex offender policies, their public safety impact, and the effect they have on former offenders and their families. During two years of investigation for this report, Human Rights Watch researchers conducted over 200 interviews with victims of sexual violence and their relatives, former offenders, law enforcement and government officials, treatment providers, researchers, and child safety advocates.

"Politicians didn't do their homework before enacting these sex offender laws. Instead they have perpetuated myths about sex offenders and failed to deal with the complex realities of sexual violence against children."

"Human Rights Watch is dedicated to protecting the human rights of people around the world.

We stand with victims and activists to prevent discrimination, to uphold political freedom, to protect people from inhumane conduct in wartime, and to bring offenders to justice.

We investigate and expose human rights violations and hold abusers accountable."

Let's look at some of the recommendations made in this report and then we'll look at what kind of "homework" and research Sarah Tofte did in this "report" sponsored by Human Rights Watch.

Here's a sampling of recommendations:

  • Accountability for those who search online databases should be ensured by requiring the database user to specify the purpose for the search, and to provide his or her name and zip code
  • eliminate public access to online registries of sex offenders
  • Congress should eliminate public access to the national sex offender registry
  • Law enforcement officials should eliminate the use of posters, flyers, and other easily replicable materials to alert communities of the presence of a registered sex offender in their neighborhood
  • Access to sex offender registries should be limited to law enforcement
  • Former offenders should not be required to register with their schools or places of employment
  • No offender who was under the age of 18 at the time of his or her offense should be required to register
  • All provisions of the Adam Walsh Act that deal with state registration and community notification requirements should be repealed
  • If Congress does not repeal the Adam Walsh Act requirements as they pertain to state registration and community notification, states should not adopt the Adam Walsh Act provisions to their registration and community notification laws
  • Neither states nor localities should have residency restriction laws that apply to entire classes of former offenders
It sounds just like the petition to free sex offenders from accountability and abolish age of consent laws, doesn't it? We wrote about that here and here and the issue was wiki'd here.
"Human Rights Watch appreciates the sense of concern and urgency that has prompted these laws. They reflect a deep public yearning for safety in a world that seems increasingly threatening. Every child has the right to live free from violence and sexual abuse. Promoting public safety by holding offenders accountable and by instituting effective crime prevention measures is a core governmental obligation.

Unfortunately, our research reveals that sex offender registration, community notification, and residency restriction laws are ill-considered, poorly crafted, and may cause more harm than good

The evidence is overwhelming, as detailed in this report, that these laws cause great harm to the people subject to them"
So now let's look at her overwhelming evidence. And where she got it. Some of the people included Zman, Daniel Chenault, Johnny Ray Lee, Butch Brown and of course Linda Pehrson. We know Linda from her previous news interview "Just call me Susie" and her inclusion in the audio portion of Sarah's "report". You see, Linda's husband molested her daughter, after serving time in prison Linda let him come back into the home. Linda aka Amy says
I think my daughter’s very strong. I was a battered women’s counselor, for about eight years, and I’m about the strongest woman you’ll ever meet, so it’s not that I’m a weak woman, and I’m a standing by my man kind of gal, cause I’m not, I want to give my daughter all the tools and techniques she needs to empower her to get on with her life, I don’t want her to be a professional victim the rest of her life. I don’t want this to define her.
So Linda Pehrson is a woman who not only stayed with the man who did this to her child, his step-daughter, but advocates bringing children's abusers back into their home with the jazzed up term 'family reunification'. Is this where Sarah got her information?

We know that she wrote to Linda asking for very specific information. In other words she solicited the responses that she wanted. She asked for people who had been victims of vigilantism, she asked for people who were victims of 'restrictive laws', she asked for people who had notification cards. She focused on the states that had the most strict SOR guidelines. She knew the answers she wanted and that's what she set out to get.

This is not a 'study' this is mere journalism. Spin doctored to suit her purpose. She says that in researching this issue she interviewed "122 sex offenders and 90 of their loved ones......and a number of victims" I would like to know how many victims she interviewed .....that weren't also offenders.

It seems she put a lot of weight on the information she got from Linda Pehrson.
Human Rights Watch Needs You

Here is a message from Human Right Watch PLEASE contact them!! Her email is toftes@...

Hi Linda. My name is Sarah. I am a researcher with Human Rights Watch. I am working on a report on sex offender laws, and how they affect convicted sex offenders and their loved ones. We received your e-mail to Human Rights Watch, and I was hoping I might be able to speak with you by phone about your experiences.

Take care,

Sarah

Can anyone help Sarah from Human Rights Watch with the info she needs? She is working hard for us! Linda

Hi Linda! I have been in touch with a number of individuals in Georgia and Iowa about the effect zoning laws had on their lives. I understand there are sex offender zoning laws in at least 14 states. I was wondering if you have been in touch with others in states outside of Georgia or Iowa that have been affected by zoning laws.

Take care,

Sarah
Our report is looking less at the propriety of charging juveniles with sex offenses (although we think it is wrong) as much as we are looking at the consequences of sex offender laws
To support our research, we are attempting to locate sex offenders who are struggling to live under restrictive laws. Because Georgia has one of the most exclusive zoning laws in the country, we are focusing on the experiences of sex offenders in Georgia
Your help will be invaluable in our efforts to ensure justice and fair treatment for sex offenders in the U.S. and their families
Re: [roar_4_freedom] Human Rights Organization Begins Investigation of U.S. Sex Offender

The report should be coming out SOON! I was interviewed for this report as well as having a hand behind the scenes helping Sarah Tofte of HRW with the research and contacts. I know of some others here were interviewed as well

Hi Linda. I know you will distribute far and wide. Urge people to comment.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/sarah-tofte/sex-offender-laws-may-do-_b_68261.html

I have been working with Sarah since last summer. Her report is going to be complete. I know that for a fact because, I sent her contacts for EVERY aspect of this issue. If she needed people, stats, research and news articles, I was more than happy to help every step of the way!
Linda

HERE we talked about what distorted statistics these people use. The eadvocate website that takes legitimate statistics and twists them and inserts the results of one question into the answer of another. And lo and behold, who did Sarah Tofte reference as one of her sources for this monstrosity she's trying to pass off as 'legitimate research'? None other than eadvocate. In fact the very page she references is one with nothing but defense of pedophilia, denial of the grooming process, and attempts to deceive regarding pedophiles, child molesters and sex offenders in general. Some of the things the blame gamers have to say about eadvocate include
Cheryl: Harvard, Have you looked at the charts on Eadvocate?

Harvard: I'm looking at the tables on eadvocate and turning those into charts. I'm also culling data from various reports

TimF: Harvard, One of my favorite stats is: "96.5% of *new sex offenses* are committed by someone who has never committed a sex offense before!"
Linda Pehrson and Cheryl Griffith aka 'equaljustice2' hijacked Shirley Lowery's SOSEN organization which created a big stir. Zman aka Michael Gregg got all agitated and Betty Price tried to calm him down. It is here that we learn more about Sarah
"Linda and Cheryl have great connections and talk to reporters, Sarah Tofte communicates with sosen on a regular basis. I could go on and on. Staff is organized. We have a great WORKING staff. And boy do they work. They get the same pay as you and me. Dedicated staff, Zman and this is all coming together

The Ohio Rally, both Linda and Cheryl are speakers, Don't tell anybody, but they have are approaching Sarah Tofte to speak at the Rally. There is a big question as to whether her being associated with sex offender advocacy groups might conflict with her position with HRW. I can see a conflict myself. It might be detrimental to the organization.

I said all that to say this. It is VITAL to all sex offender advocacy groups to get it together. No fighting on line. Getting serious about the work we do and and don't allow for anyone to be divisive. It hurts the cause. Big Time."

Indeed.

Let's Make This Clear (Smiles Maniacally)

Sunday, November 04, 2007

That's just one of the many harassing emails I've received. Attached to it were several posters this person had made accusing others of being a child molester, a child pornographer etc. We discussed all that HERE

So I do find it interesting that some people don't know when to stop. But then we already knew how they were didn't we? This one I received this morning though is quite helpful because it gives me a chance to clarify a bit more Jacey's post from yesterday

These are the facts. Lindsay Ashford supported that statistic. He linked to eadvocate for support. I won't link to a site that has such convoluted, twisted and concocted propaganda. But, since Nightmare here was so ahem helpful to post the entire entry into the email and inform me that I needed a statistics book for Dummies, I'm going to break it down even further.

Number one rule of thumb. You cannot take a statistic that measures one thing and apply it to something that it doesn't measure.
In 1994 victims reported 432,750 incidents.
This tells us nothing regarding the recidivism study. What it does tell us is that in 1994 victims reported 432,750 incidents. We don't know how many of those actually occurred. We don't know how many resulted in an arrest and we don't know how many resulted in a conviction. All we know from that is 432,750 incidents of victimization were reported in 1994.
The DoJ reported 3.5% of those sex offenders released were RECONVICTED for another sex crime, within 3 years, following their release. (DoJ Pg-24) see note below.

Accordingly, in 1994 victims reported 432,750 incidents. In 1994 3.5% of sex offenders released from prison (those who had previously committed one or more sex offenses) committed another sex offense (recidivated within 3-years of release).
This is two different reports measuring two different things. Again, you cannot take one measurement and just pick something else to apply it to, that it did not measure. This is spin. This is what pro child sexual abuse people do. This is what Lindsay Ashford did. This is what Jan Kruska did. This is what Tom Madison did and all the rest of the blame gamers who don't want to take responsibility for their actions.

What the DOJ study said is:

Of the 9,691 released sex offenders, 3.5% (339 of the 9,691) were reconvicted for a sex crime within the 3-year followup period.

The 3.5% figure was only a measure of those 9,691 people. It was not a measurement of the total number of convictions for 1994. It doesn't matter how many convictions there were that year, 5000 or ten million. The 3.5% only tells us that 3.5% of 9,691 were reconvicted. You cannot apply one result to another question. This is so very basic that we can only conclude that these people have twisted the statistics with malicious intent to deceive. There is no other plausible explanation.
"The math: (100% - 3.5% = 96.5%) 96.5% of 432,750 = 417,603 committed by someone other than a former sex offender released from prison.

What more needs to be said?"
Out of 9,691 sex offenders released in 1994, 3.5% of them were reconvicted for a sex crime within a 3 year period. This did not measure the percentage of total convictions for 1994, and it tells us nothing about anyone else convicted that year except that they weren't released the same year as these men. In 1994 there could have been men REconvicted of a sex crime who had been released in 1993, in '92, in '88 or '75 or '67.

You cannot say that 3.5% of sex offenders released in '94 recidivated within 3 years therefore everyone else convicted that year was not already a sex offender. That is WA LA Pedo Logic
